Oil, watercolor, acrylic, fresco, and egg tempura have all been favored choices in the prolific body of work that represents Rollin Alm's artistic momentum. Alm talks of his artistic perception, "I am constantly learning and experimenting with past mediums and styles. I try to develop new techniques with each phase of my painting. My direction for the future will include developing new work from the previous techniques and styles that I've studied." |
Rollin is equally at home, either working within the constraints of canvas or painting on the St. Thomas ceiling, (as a fresco assistant), in the downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota campus. Studying fresco extensively, Rollin has shared his talents painting in the St. Clare Basilica in Assisi, Italy and the St. Paul Cathedral in St. Paul, Minnesota. Recently completing a sixty foot watercolor mural commissioned for the Pierre Bottineau Library in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Rollin Alm writes, "I believe my present style works in harmony with contemporary architecture and the life within." As co-founder of the non-profit arts community education program, The Learning Room, Rollin has expanded his passions for art into the teaching arena. The Learning Room's mission is to facilitate education and exploration of the arts. Rollin Alm approaches his future artistic endeavors with confidence, and with all certainty that this forward-looking artist will not have forsaken the past lessons learned nor insights revealed, in this 21st century. |
