Gerry Thompson - AFCA, CSPWC, ARCT

British Columbia artist, Gerry Thompson, found a means of expressing her fascination with the light-filled world of images and objects in her paintings. Subjects that inspire Gerry usually have one or more of the following attributes:

• Strong contrast between light and shadow
• Combinations of natural and artificial light
• Unique textures
• Close-up perspective
• Interesting color combinations

Within that context, Gerry Thompson paints the world around her as she sees it at that particular time in her life. Thompson's paintings are found in collections throughout the world. Gerry is a popular workshop instructor and juror. She has traveled to many locations in Canada, United States, France, and Spain. Gerry is a graduate of the University College of the Fraser Valley, in Abbotsford, British Columbia, where she majored in Painting and Printmaking. She is a Signature Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour. In addition, Gerry Thompson is an accomplished musician and is an Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Ontario.
