In the muffled quiet of the snowy woods bucks that recently fought over does will eat side by side in peace. Antlers will soon drop off. There will be continuous browsing on buds and branch tips throughout the winter to provide warmth and full bellies. Thicker winter coats keep the deer warm. Blankets of snow act as insulators to hold the deer's heat in. Eating and staying warm are the main focus for the long Winter months that stretch ahead. |
