Drawing of an Indian Maiden with a Horse

Gayle paints and draws at art fairs and this drawing was started at the Illinois Horse Expo. The medium is mixed media, pencil, and ink. There is subtle color in the indian maiden's hair, dress, and face - rather like a very lightly colored old black and white photograph.

Native people who depended on their horses for survival developed very close bonds with them. Constantly facing serious situations, horse and man alike needed their partners just to survive. Moments when they were surrounded by peace and abundance and they could share this close bond together were truly treasured. Trust, peace, and abundance is what dreams are made of.
