Hummingbirds Feather Painting

Hummingbirds feathers have a metallic sheen that will flash in the sunlight making their colors intensify. Sunlight reflecting off of the metallic sheen on hummingbird feathers creates the image of flying jewels in the air as they zoom and dive in their aerobatics. Hummingbirds come in a variety of blues and greens, some with bright red splashes of ruby color on their throats. Male dominance "wars" in the Fall of the year add a loud chatter to the flashes of color as they dip and dive trying to chase the other males away from the food source and territory. They are truly one of nature's most talented flyers.
