Gray Paint Horse Painting

Horses come in all colors. The gray color is rather rare in horses. In certain lights their coats actually look blue toned. Paint horses also frequently show color on their lips, or outlining of the eyes. Many paint horses have more than one color of mane and tail adding their beauty.

This horse painting is one in a series of three horse paintings including the "Appy" and the "Chestnut". They are all mixed media and are an ink base mesh drawing showing the topography of the horse's head with a wash over them of layers of acrylic very thinned out to achieve the color blending.
