This land where I grew up is now my favorite place to paint on location. I can feel the presence of the early Californios rounding up the cattle that grazed freely throughout the foothills. The Irvine Ranch cowboys have also been tending their cattle here for the last century. My sense of history is very keen; I can almost hear them passing. |
